Medicare Advantage Plans
Medicare Advantage Plans are now offered through independent insurance companies. These plans will generally have some additional benefits included, and takes the place of Medicare Part A & B. You would still pay your monthly premiums to Medicare for Part B. You should check with your doctor prior to switching to any Medicare Advantage Plan to be sure they will accept it.
There are 3 times you can enroll into a Medicare Advantage Plan:
- Open Enrollment: when you reach 65 years of age
- Annual Enrollment: the last 45 days of the calendar year
- Special Enrollment: if you qualify, the first 3 months of the calendar year
